The only upside was the decent location, but three weeks before we arrived we asked whether our eight‑year‑old could stay in our room without needing an extra bed and never got an answer; when we got there we were forced to pay extra for him, which would have made us choose another hotel. The room had never been cleaned or laundered, the beds were rock‑hard and the pillows uncomfortable, and the breakfast was terrible.

We loved the hotel, especially getting two spacious rooms on the top floor, and the breakfast was very good while the staff were charming. The downside was having to lug our luggage up four narrow flights of stairs and the neighborhood lacking many restaurants.
