The staff tried to charge us for a breakfast we didn't eat, and also wanted to bill us an arbitrary €20 for staying until noon in the room, even though we had prior approval from the manager. The word probably didn't get through.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, giving good advice for tours and transport. The breakfast at €10 offered an amazing value, with a full Irish breakfast (egg, sausages, bacon, beans, white pudding and rösti), plus unlimited cereals and fruit juices. The location is ideal for walking to the historic centre, and bus and tram stops are also very close. The hotel is part of an old building (labyrinthine corridors and carpet everywhere) above the pub The Celt, which itself is worth a visit! There are several rooms, quality dining at all hours, and concerts every night. Our twin room was clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee available. The shower was hot and functional. The bathroom spaces were a bit tight, and there was only a small high window. Noise from the neighbourhood can bother sensitive people (police sirens, screeching gulls, bass from the pub below), but earplugs solve it. There is no common lounge to relax outside the room.

The location is good. The Wi‑Fi signal was poor and there was no hair dryer.

It was above a bar, so convenient for a drink. I lost all running water in my room, so I couldn't wash, shower, or use the bathroom. I contacted staff but received no response; I told them again when leaving. I spoke to other guests and they also had no running water overnight. I sent an email complaint with no reply, and even followed up with a fax, still no response. I won't recommend the hotel; avoid researching the area but definitely not staying again.
