The setting by the sea was very pleasant, and the owner was very friendly. We didn’t like the owner’s greeting, which seemed to imply we wouldn’t pay the bill (luckily he was there to tell him to put it on our invoice). The owner again almost scammed us for renting a scooter for a day at 150 000 Ariary, plus a scooter that broke down every kilometre and had no fuel (he even asked us to pay for the fuel), while a rental on Sainte Marie Island was 60 000 Ariary for a day for a motocross bike.

“Really really bad definitely not recommended, La pirogue just next door is amazing!”

Except for the beachfront spot, everything else was awful; even though I had a confirmation when I arrived, they told me there was no reservation for me, so I waited about 3 hours before getting a unit. Rain leaked through the roof and I couldn’t sleep at all. The staff were rude and untrained, and the food was even worse—burnt pizza and raw noodle soup.
