The bed was hard as a rock, not clean, and the room felt tiny for the price; cobwebs were everywhere and paint was peeling off the walls, so we had to leave. The manager helped us find another place, but we couldn’t stay there.

The hotel is charming, old, and quirky with a great location, a fantastic breakfast, and a great bed, but I was disappointed that the bar was closed and the property could use a little TLC.

The self‑service breakfast was generally good, though the egg and mushroom selection could have been broader. The Low Town location is easy to spot, and the on‑site parking is convenient, though it sometimes fills up and you’ll need to use the neighboring Co‑op car park. The room offered plenty of storage and came with a portable heater and fan. The downside was the tiny bathroom in our twin room, which made it hard to reach the toilet, and the extractor fan was broken—an issue for guests with limited mobility.
