This homestay is genuinely awesome! The room was roomy, spotless, and had a fan, which was plenty since the air is cooler up here. The owners were super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast—typical Indonesian dishes—was tasty and generous in portion. Skip the negative review that’s on the page and look at the great Google reviews for a truer picture. The downside: like many Indonesian bathrooms, the shower water splashes all over the room and creates an unpleasant odor—just a fact of life.

The accommodation boasts a fantastic view of the trucks and scooters that run 24/24, but the noise is hellish both day and night. The room conditions are far from adequate and hygiene is severely neglected. Breakfast isn’t included, and the room rate is excessive for the place—better avoid this place.

The family running the place is very friendly. The room was clean, spacious, had a fan, and the bed was comfortable. The menu was limited but the food was delicious! We ran into a small issue with hot water in our room, but the owners let us use another room to shower. Having hot water available in the first place is a luxury, so it wasn’t a huge deal. The location is on a somewhat busy road on the way to Ijen, so there’s a bit of road noise.
