The heating only turned on at 16:00, which was frustrating.

The beds were very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly when we were late, but the place felt under construction and the hostel interior looked half‑finished, as if they were still remodeling.

The front was nice when we arrived, yet the GPS led us to the other side where a shabby industrial unit sat. The bathroom was pretty and the bedroom décor was immaculate. However, the property is attached to a poorly maintained industrial unit. There was no desk for greeting; I had to wander around to find someone because several businesses occupy the adjacent compound. The front door had no handle; I had to insert a finger into a hole to pull it closed. The hallway had no carpet or underlay, only cement flooring. Despite the attractive bedroom and bathroom, several problems arose: no hot water, and I was told I’d have to wait over an hour for the boiler to start. I eventually got a lukewarm shower, with the soaker shower head partially detached and water spouting sideways. The sideboard with the TV was badly scratched all over. The TV was an old Toshiba, and half the buttons on the remote didn’t work. It’s a shame that after decorating so well, so little effort was made to finish the interior properly.

The rooms were fairly clean and the linen was fresh, but a jelly bean was found on the floor of one room. The building was in poor condition. The front door was broken, threadbare, and missing carpets, with exposed carpet gripper strips. Reception was closed when we arrived, and a man chewing a piece of chicken greeted us without knowing we were coming. In the morning, everyone was sneezing, presumably from dust.
