The accommodation was spotless, fully equipped, and the bedding was comfortable—perfect for hikers. The location was great for a stopover on the Stevenson Trail, and our host Serge greeted us warmly and chatted nicely when we arrived.

The new house had all the comforts, but the evening meal was mediocre; a lady delivered it and left immediately. Drinks were pricey and the fridge had no beverages. The service lady offered nothing, and breakfast was low‑budget—though the baker did bring fresh bread, just a bit late. It could be better.

We could buy drinks on site, both alcoholic and non‑alcoholic, fresh or not, and there was a meal basket option. The host warned us upon arrival that he wouldn’t be present, so no one was there for dinner or breakfast.

The house was clean and fairly spacious, close to the town center and the Stevenson paths. The amenities were minimal: no bath mat, the towel was tiny, and the pillow was hard. I strongly advise against the half‑board; the dinner resembled a poor school cafeteria, and breakfast included yesterday’s bread, dripping margarine, a splash of apple juice, a yogurt, and a slice of chocolate cake. It would have been better to discuss this with the owners, who live nearby but didn’t visit.
