The front desk staff were very welcoming, and my room was immaculate and roomy, with a comfortable bed and a great bathroom. The sitting area offered a nice view and the place stayed quiet. The continental breakfast area, however, was too cramped to serve everyone, so I skipped it—though I wasn’t really looking forward to breakfast anyway.

The heritage building has over 120 years of history. The front desk staff—apparently the owner—took us on a tour and explained its past. The room itself is small but cozy. The bathroom floor is heated and very comfortable. Overall, the room feels clean and comfortable.

We spent a week with our two little grandchildren (4 and 1) in Silverton and then had a solo day and night in Ouray before heading home; this place was just perfect—more like a cozy B&B than a hotel, and it’s in a great spot. Highly recommend.
