“A very nice hotel, with splendid food, in the very centre of the city.”

The hotel sits incredibly close to the railway station—closer than Google Maps suggests because it ignores the underground passage, so just walk from the station to the opposite side and you’re almost there. The Nile bank and the lovely Al‑Arif bi‑Allah mosque are also nearby. My room was tidy and nice. I rarely order room service, but I did and the food was great—varied, tasty, and worth trying. The downside was the noise from the train station, which was noticeable.

I had a pleasant, hassle‑free stay. The staff were polite and friendly, the room was fine, and the cleanliness was okay. The hotel is close to the city centre, the local market, shops and cafés. The location right next to the railway station is a big plus, although you should expect train noise throughout the day and night. I recommend asking for a room on the other side of the building and bringing earplugs. Overall, I recommend it, especially for budget travellers exploring Egypt.
