The family living on site welcomed us with frozen fruit popsicles, creating a cozy, family‑friendly vibe; the rural location is still easy for small cars, and next to the property is a cheese and sweets factory right off the farm. The Wi‑Fi worked, the TV signal was a bit spotty but streaming was possible, and the kitchen was well equipped with all appliances and complimentary coffee; bath towels were clean. The living room was nicely decorated, the bedroom had an open wardrobe and ample space. I’m not a fan of night drives on the highway, but the wide, single‑lane road made it easy to go to and from Penedo at night. The communal area with a barbecue, fireplace, and two pools—one small for kids and one larger—was pleasant, surrounded by green and giving a sense of safety. The only downside was a leak in the bathroom toilet that I mentioned to the owner; the towel rack could have had more hooks for a room meant for four, though there was a clothesline in the house area. The house seemed split into two spaces, with an open gap in the wall where you could hear all conversations, the other person’s bathroom, and even kitchen smells, so for better privacy I’d pick a different chalet next time.
