The place sits nicely on the 'blue line' of the Shimanami Kaido, and it’s handy to stow bikes in the room. Checking in was relatively straightforward. Having a hot shower, a way to dry clothes, and a hot meal after a rainy ride is a plus. The downside is you have to depend on the vending machine for meals or bring your own supplies beforehand, and the location is a few kilometers from shops.

The location is good and the value for money is solid. The facilities are clean and user‑friendly. However, the 4‑person dormitory room had people eating in it at night, which was concerning (there were no special notices, so the hygiene was questionable). The shared space is small for the number of rooms, so more chairs would help, or outdoor seating and tables would be nice.

The equipment was good, and the unmanned reception worked fine with no issues. The local shopping street in Setoda tends to close restaurants before 8 pm, which was a surprise for a Tokyo native and made it a bit hard to find a place to eat. Still, there are options—there’s a snack bar after dinner too.
