The place is beautiful, the food is great, the facilities are clean, and the staff are friendly. The dorm mattress was hard, and the street side was pretty loud.

Black Sheep Bed & Breakfast isn’t a luxury hotel, and that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s a cozy, budget‑friendly place with a unique character and a lovely mix of old‑fashioned charm and relaxed Ladakhi vibes. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The dining area is nice, but my favourite part was the large balcony overlooking the river and mountains—a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the surroundings. There’s also a lovely upstairs lounge where you can relax, read a book, play games or simply hang out after a long journey. If you’re looking for luxury facilities, this may not be your place. But if you want a clean, comfortable and affordable stay with warmth, character and beautiful views—especially for a night in Kargil—I would highly recommend Black Sheep. It has a charm of its own and we really enjoyed our stay. The only downside is that, like many hotels in Ladakh, there is no AC, but the fan was sufficient for us.

The room looked out over a stunning valley, was spotless, snug, and comfy—exactly the recharge spot I needed on my road trip to Leh. I truly enjoyed my time there, and the staff were fantastic. Thanks for the warm hospitality :)
