“Basic, run down but with honest staff”
After we decided to look elsewhere, the hotel refunded us the full amount we’d paid, which was a genuinely admirable response to unhappy guests. The place itself was extremely basic and run‑down: cement floors, no electricity, beds on shipping pallets, unpaved paths, and the photos on the listing were misleading compared to what we actually saw.
Un merveilleux séjour passé a The Elephant Home !
Staying at Elephant Home is more than just a night by the national park; it’s about discovering a community and supporting the impressive work they’ve done over the years. Some of the proceeds go to a school and to tree planting, and they’ve now planted 700,000 trees! (Also, the food by Yason—formerly a chief cook—and Kosmas is delicious! :p) Just spend a few days there, go for a nature walk, join community walks, cruise on the Kazinga Channel—there are countless activities at hand!
“Excellent”
The staff were friendly and always ready to help and find solutions. I joined a community walk and a boda boda tour, which was a great project! Everything was fine.
The service was good. There was no electricity.
