I stumbled upon an old, partially dilapidated house deep in the forest, with no doorbell and the owner unreachable by phone. Nobody was around when we arrived, and after waiting an hour for the ruin, a frantic, distracted woman appeared, opened the door without greeting us, and let us in. We hadn’t expected anyone else to show up at the crumbling building and had already booked another place. The woman refused to refund us. Type the address into Maps and you’ll see photos of the ruin. The surroundings, location, staff, and the crumbling building were all disappointing.

“Nicht wieder”

The place was quiet, but advertised as an apartment with a real kitchen that never existed. Everything was makeshift: dishes in a box on the floor, a fridge and coffee machine in the bedroom, a “kitchen” without water, curtains-less windows, and people outside the house. It was very overpriced for what it offered.

Silence and tranquility. The owners were courteous and kind. The rooms and bathroom were spacious. Water was available in the fridge.
