The place was beautiful, clean, and offered great views, but there were too many steps; we didn’t realize we were on the lower floor until we were there, and the extra stairs were a challenge for me, who is recovering from cancer and hip surgery.

I stayed at this historic lodge that’s been given a modern makeover, and the grounds are stunning. The hot tub and fire pit were highlights, and the kitchen and laundry were fully equipped. There are great hikes right outside, and we even saw deer in the garden 🙂

This historic inn is amazing inside and out, with a meticulous focus on authentic, original fixtures. The facility and surrounding area let you soak up the charm of this small mountain community, and the locals are friendly. Deer and other wildlife wander around the lodge.
