“Poorly equipped kitchen. Cold. Lifeless. Hard to open doors.”
The spot was great, right next to a bus stop, and the laundry machine and dryer were handy. The only downside was the odd two‑hand door‑opening mechanism that made it impossible to bring in anything like a glass of water, and you had to use it on several doors just to move around the building. You’d have to drop items on the floor because there was nowhere else to put them. Although there were better places to stay, this one had a kitchen, but it was missing salt and oven mitts—something I only realized after I had bought groceries and tried to bake. The kitchen was terribly under‑equipped and the host didn’t fix it or even mention that it existed. Travelers rarely bring salt in their luggage, so that was a surprise. The common areas felt cold and lifeless. The host was polite but seemed disinterested and wasn’t on site; he was puzzled that each room’s key ring only had a single key for the front door and its own room—did it open all other rooms? I’ll never stay here again; it feels more like an investment property than a real guest house.
