“Beautiful views and potoential for the hotel however a lot of work needed for a comfortable stay”

The staff were very friendly and tried to make the stay comfortable, and the views are beautiful. The hotel itself feels very run‑down, needs a lot of refurbishment, and overall didn’t feel very clean. The entrance is not good—there’s no proper road to drive to it, so I felt uneasy leaving my car outside. A lot of flies were in the hotel, and although breakfast was an effort to serve good food, it was covered in flies.

The building clearly needs renovations; otherwise it would be spectacular. It feels like walking into a palace that’s been empty for a year. You can still feel its grandeur, but you notice the small things starting to break or fail. The staff were also very nice.

The free indoor pool is sensational. The view from the sun terrace is breathtaking!

The staff were excellent and very accommodating. I wouldn’t really call it a spa. The pool area was outdated and the water was very cold. The rooftop pool is under construction. The hammam and massage area were sweltering hot. The masseuse did an excellent job, but I felt bad for her because she was sweating profusely. The hotel is five miles from the old czar. When we arrived, we wanted a bear after our long journey. They told us they only had three beers in the whole hotel, not three kinds—just three beers. Some Australians drank them all, but after some coaxing, the staff went down to the store and got us what we asked for. Also, the AC in the room never really got cold; it was always warm.
