The place is perfect for connecting with nature, and the service was very good, but getting there was a hassle because the gravel road and river crossing with little water made the trip uncomfortable.

The room was bathed in great light and the place was very quiet. However, reaching the property required a 10 km unpaved road with four shallow stream crossings, which can be tricky for low‑ground‑clearance cars; they also added a 10 % surcharge for credit‑card payments. The area has no cellular signal and I had no Wi‑Fi in the room, and the pillows and sheets could use an update.

This hotel really requires a 4×4 to get there, as you have to cross water‑filled low spots over a 7 km dirt road. The rooms lack a TV, the air‑conditioning took a long time to warm the space, and the shower leaked onto the rest of the bathroom. The price was high, and you could find a comparable 4‑ or 5‑star property elsewhere.

“Descanso Total”

Breakfast was very good, the staff and services were excellent, and it’s a great place to rest, though the split AC didn’t work well.

The environment was warm and uniquely natural, exuding peace and tranquility, and Ana took care of us wonderfully.
