It is a great place to stay. My room was exceptionally clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Next time I am in Durban I will definitely book again

Nothing. After arriving, I realized I couldn't stay there. The parking entrance was very narrow, and the property sat on a heavily trafficked street. Around it was barbed wire, cameras everywhere inside and out, giving the feeling of a prison rather than a supposedly well‑rated accommodation. There were no restaurants or pubs nearby, and walking at night was dangerous; there were no sidewalks like in Europe. The host, described as friendly and warm in reviews, was the opposite. She vanished after handing over the key and all further communication was only via phone. A request to move to a quieter room was denied because everything was supposedly full (my car was the only one parked there, I didn't see another guest). My attempt to amicably cancel the reservation was initially met positively, with her saying she would consider it. I left the unused accommodation after about 15 minutes, expecting a happy ending, but the opposite happened. The next day she had already rejected my refund request. Because of her cynical deception, I lost 50% of the cost that would have been refunded if I had cancelled immediately. I had a great time in South Africa and met many open and honest people, but this woman was the exact opposite. I strongly advise against staying here.
