The friendly host took all the time to explain the area. The location was close to restaurants and shops. Everything felt a bit dated, especially the bathroom could use a facelift. For us it was fine and we had no complaints.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Mermaid Guesthouse. Mimi and the other staff were friendly and kind; I wish everyone could have Mimi’s patient attitude. The Guesthouse is within walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants, and not far from the harbour. The stairs were steep, so we were grateful to have a room on the ground floor. Our room (room 9) was quite small for us, but we were still satisfied. It was wonderful to see the sunrise from the room each morning. The electric blanket and heater were perfect in the evenings. The fridge was stocked with items that you have to pay for if you use them. Thanks again to Mimi for accommodating us so nicely. The town itself is absolutely breathtaking. Thank you, Struisbaai! ❤️
