The setting is beautiful and the restaurant is lovely. Checkout was at 10:30 am, which was tight because we headed to parkrun in Winchester and only had 25 minutes to shower and leave the room. The receptionist mentioned a little leeway, but we still managed to leave by 10:30 am.

It’s a beautiful place. The garden is exceptional, and breakfast was fantastic. There was nothing to dislike.

The spot was exactly what we needed, and the food turned out to be really good; the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the building feels very dated and worn, the bathroom needs updating—mirrors and tiles are grubby and the bottom of the bath side is cracked. There’s only one wall socket with two plugs, so if you’re watching TV and there are two of you, only one can charge a phone and you can’t use a kettle. The air conditioning didn’t work and was patched together with sellotape.
