“Risky”
The family was friendly, the spot looked lovely, and the food was good, but getting there was dangerous, the place didn't feel authentic, the toilets and showers are outside the room, the water sometimes stops, and the price feels off for what you get.
The location was great.
“Excellent stay”
The hostel is well located and calm, a real spot to unwind. The staff are kind and helpful, and the food is excellent. Getting there by bike isn’t easy.
It was a wonderfully peaceful escape, the host was kind and interesting, the food was great, and the homestay was simple and honest.
You stay with a family, their cow, goats, and dogs, all very friendly! The room is up high overlooking the valley and surrounding nature, surrounded by mango, papaya, and banana trees with a stunning view… Guna takes care of you throughout your stay and makes sure you have everything you need… the kitchen is good and plentiful. The futon beds are comfortable along with the duvets. The village of Nuwakot is a 2‑hour walk (one way) and offers a nice stroll. The stone staircase that leads there is beautiful as is the village life… (the Durbar is under restoration and not very interesting). The place is unusual, steep, ideal for a full immersion in nature. Nothing to complain about, the value for money is excellent! The shower is cold, but you can ask for a bucket of hot water.
