Um Paraíso
“Vale a pena Voltar”
The location was perfect for relaxing! The room was very good, with a huge and comfortable bed.
“Não voltarei. Não vale a pena.”
The staff were polite, and the fishing fee was nice, but that’s all. The location was terrible—very far away, 12 kilometers of dirt road, taking 40 minutes on a very dangerous road with many broken trees in poor condition. The pool was small and cold, with no heater. I know it’s a forest area, but there was a creature stuck in the ceiling of cabin 04; I couldn’t sleep for two nights. The first night I thought it was just bad luck, but the second night the creature (probably a rat or something larger, making a lot of noise) kept making noise all night. It wanted to get out of the ceiling but I couldn’t. Also, the AC turns off and then turns on by itself at night. The Rio das Almas runs behind the lodge, but the staff warned that it’s dangerous because there’s a jaguar there that has already killed a dog at the site, making me feel unsafe near the river. Breakfast was very weak, and the daily rate is very expensive for what’s offered.
“Maravilhosamente excepcional.”
We loved the entire stay, and the staff were exceptionally courteous, especially Erick and the lady at the café; we’ll definitely return. The only downside was that the internet signal was a bit difficult.
“Muita natureza e jeitinho de fazenda”
The bed linens and towels were clean, fragrant, and of good quality. The view from the bungalow was beautiful, surrounded by forest. The pool had a pleasant temperature. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The majestic view of the reservoir and distant mountains, plus access to the river behind the forest, were impressive. During the first night, the lights went out for a few hours and we had to take a cold shower, but I understand that’s beyond the lodge’s control. Many insects came in because of the nearby forest, even with windows and doors well sealed; if you’re not a fan, that’s a drawback.
