The outdoor pool, beach amenities, and nearby walking trail made it great to stroll after dinner, and the parking was ample so driving there was less crowded. The other facilities, especially the sauna and the beach restaurant, offered food and drinks at reasonable prices. I booked with half‑board, expecting breakfast and dinner, and while breakfast was fine, the dinner buffet was a complete letdown. It was even worse than the 50‑dirham buffet at Barbeque Nation, so I was very disappointed. I would have gotten more value by paying for dinner and buying a pizza, barbecue chicken, shrimp popcorn, and a cold draft beer at Jones the Grocer on the beach. The check‑in was scheduled for 3 pm, but I arrived at the counter at 2 pm and the room wasn’t cleaned yet; they asked me to wait a bit and said they'd prepare it as soon as possible, so I waited in the lobby on a hot day. At 3 pm there was still no contact, so I went back to the counter at 3 10 pm and they handed me the key immediately. I had already given my contact info at check‑in and was told they'd call when the room was ready, but they didn’t do that even though the room was ready; I felt I was being thanked for nothing. I vowed not to expect much from staff in a Middle‑Eastern hotel chain, yet I was wrong to think Hilton was different. The reception is staffed by Russian or former Soviet nationals, and expecting friendliness from them is like hoping for a hurricane in Dubai in summer; in Saint‑Petersburg it was a bit more friendly, probably because of proximity to Finland and Helsinki. The first reception staff you meet is the face of the hotel, and this Hilton Jumei doesn’t feel like the old Hilton I expected. I hope they keep their original spirit.

I was blown away by everything, especially Mr. Josh who made the vacation amazing and worked hard with us; thanks Josh for everything you did. The service and everything else were also amazing.
