The location, super breakfast, even fresh raspberries and blueberries. A strong smell from the countless pelicans that live there, but the hotel can’t do anything about that.

I visited The Inn at the Cove for the first time and had a very enjoyable stay; every interaction with the staff was excellent and I had no complaints. The location is beautiful right on the cliffs, offering outstanding sunset views. The only criticism is the showers, which have extremely low water pressure—likely due to California’s water‑saving shower heads. I would definitely stay here again.

The view was breathtaking, and the bed was comfortable. The staff, especially Silvia, were attentive and professional. I was there to attend a wedding. Upon arriving, everything looked clean and organized. However, once I opened the closet door, I found ants roaming around the iron steamer; they had managed to get inside it, and the steamer was completely infested. I took the iron out of the room and started cleaning the ants off the closet walls, which was incredibly uncomfortable and annoying. I let the front desk know, and they brought me a new iron. The 2nd night, I found ants crawling all over my toiletries and makeup bags in the bathroom. I cleaned everything up, but I felt extremely uncomfortable. When I notified the front desk again, the receptionist confirmed that they do have an ongoing issue with ants. Well, that doesn't fix my experience—which was ruined when I found many ant bites on my body. Besides the highway noise is vivd and disturbing. For the price I paid, I had a very unpleasant stay!

The location is fabulous. Our room was ocean‑front on the first floor with a lovely porch to enjoy the sunset. It was clean and crisp, equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The pool area was also ocean‑front, featuring loungers, umbrellas, and towels. Electric bikes were available, though we didn’t have time to use them. There were lots of paths to explore. The refrigerator’s location near the bed caused noise during the quiet of night, and Mother Nature made the beach less inviting. Breakfast was basic, and Saturday night was quite pricey. None of these would stop us from returning.

Overall, I like the place—I’ve been coming there for many years. The room I was given had ants all over the bathroom and around the bathtub (video proof included). When I notified the front desk and Manager Sylvia, their only solution was to send someone to spray the room while I was in it, which disgusted and irritated me; I declined the spray. They then moved me to another room, but it was a downgrade: smaller and on a lower floor, even though I had paid extra for a larger, second‑floor, ocean‑front room. They didn’t offer to credit me the price difference. The customer service was terrible: front desk staff Syndi had a major attitude, and the manager simply did not care.
