The location is great for exploring Hakodate's history, and the ropeway is relatively close. Having no restaurants or convenience stores nearby is actually a plus for some people. Honestly, there are no real negatives; people used to regular hotels might find it inconvenient, but staying here in Hakodate at this price is fantastic.

The furnishings were interesting. Nothing else to mention.

This charming old house sits right in the heart of Hakodate's old town. The owners were lovely and even drove me to the station on my departure day. The whole area is beautiful with plenty of activities within walking distance, and a city tram is just a couple of minutes away to reach other parts of the city. The only drawback is that the bathroom and showers are shared; it’s a minor issue for some, but otherwise I have no complaints.

The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive. We received great recommendations for Hakodate and the surrounding area and were driven to the station in the morning. The house is super beautiful, very cozy, and overall sharing the bathroom with others isn’t a problem. There’s plenty of privacy in the bedrooms and the futon beds are very comfortable. It was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Japan! Nothing negative at all.
