I was happy that everything in the studio was present, but it felt more like a student flat rental. A horrible smell lingered, and until that issue is fixed it shouldn’t be offered. We never saw the hosts.

I could only find the key to the accommodation after the host gave me phone instructions. The roof room is accessed by two very steep stairs with narrow tread width. Immediately I noticed a strong odor in the very warm sleeping area—what I’d call a stench. Even though I was exhausted, I had to sleep amid the heat, the odor, and a loud air‑conditioner. On top of that, the bedding’s freshness was questionable, and the shower basin in the bathroom was anything but clean. I called the host again right away and said I couldn’t stay for those reasons. I tried to get a phone contact, but with a German provider from France I was stuck in the British waiting line for ages, which was not great. I gave up and wrote to the host, exhausted, heading toward the German border. At some point I read a message from CHARLES asking me to send proof photos for cancellation. Capturing the stench on a digital photo… and doing it with a phone camera in the dark room and bathroom… Also, the person in charge was not present at the unbearable accommodation for a long time. I’m still furious and upset that I had to go through such a terrible experience. I mistakenly wrote about it under “What did you like?” in the review.

I arrived late on a Monday, hoping to find a bit of freshness. Instead, it turned out to be a fan, not an air‑conditioner (more noise and less cooling). I had to leave and find a truly air‑conditioned room. It’s a shame because under the roof the heat was unbearable.

“Très agréable studio”

The place was clean and well‑located. The bed was firm (a matter of taste) and the Wi‑Fi was mediocre, making video calls impossible.
