The spot was spot on for getting around Beijing, and the staff kept being friendly, welcoming, and helpful the whole time. The rooms were comfortable, but the place clearly needs a makeover—the melamine furniture looked worn and shabby, and the bathroom had fresh white silicone splashed over brown tiles, a maintenance fix that feels out of place in a five‑star hotel. After staying at several five‑star spots across China, I was disappointed by how dated and run‑down this hotel felt, even though it was still comfortable.

The hotel sits close to the central axis attractions and is just a ten‑minute walk from Wangfujing shopping malls. The facilities were superb and everything ran smoothly. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help, and the Wan Li restaurant deserves a shout‑out for its excellent food and service. The decor, however, feels a bit tired and shows signs of wear and tear.
