The little cabin is nice, with a small heater for cool nights; there’s a lovely walk around the grounds and an on‑site restaurant; the small terrace is pleasant for watching nature and birds.

The lodge is stunning with lovely gardens, and the cabins are clean and cozy; the cooler temperatures here were a welcome change from the coastal humidity, though the abundance of blankets made my bed a bit too warm. David ran an excellent value quetzal tour that let us spot three birds, and the staff were extremely warm and helpful. Breakfast was great and a few local restaurants are within walking distance. This is one of my favorite places I’ve stayed in Costa Rica. Thanks, David, for all your help! Without a car, options are limited; the lodge can arrange taxis into the valley, but they’re pricey. The restaurant menu isn’t very varied, yet the food is simple and filling.

The view and tranquility are great, and the restaurant provides excellent service, but the cabins could have better heating for the cold weather.
