The rooms are huge, spotless, and every facility is thoughtfully provided, but getting there can be a bit tricky without a car.
“Karuizawa Tokyu”
The location is good and the room is a decent size, but the staff speak very limited English, making it hard to get information or assistance. They also try to charge for amenities that most hotels provide for free, like drinking water and Nespresso capsules for the in‑room Nespresso machine.
There were plenty of kitchenware items for us to use, and my family and I enjoyed cooking our meals at night. However, there was a power outage while I was showering one night.
“Wonderful stay”
Everything is perfect and the room is very spacious, but the hotel is a bit far from the train station—about a 15‑minute walk, which could be tough for older guests. You can always call a taxi if needed, and overall I highly recommend it.
“中から長期滞在向けの施設です。”
The hotel is just a few minutes’ drive from Karuizawa Station and has a parking lot right in front, which is handy when you have a lot of luggage; staying on the first floor was a good call because the second floor is only reachable by stairs. Our group of four had two beds, a sofa bed, and a Japanese‑style room, so everyone kept their own private space, and having two toilets was a plus. Cleaning was thorough, but everything showed signs of use.
