Extra Large One Bedroom Flat with Parking

The flat is a 30‑minute drive from Buckingham Palace and a 10‑minute drive to Tesla superchargers, with great food just a 10‑minute walk away, so the location is excellent. Parking for a Tesla Model Y is tight but doable. The flat was clean, had plenty of storage, and was very spacious for four people. The place is very quiet; the bedroom overlooks two gardens, while the lounge faces the street. There are three flats in the building, and this one sits on the highest floor, accessed by stairs. The neighbours and neighbourhood are quiet, making it a great spot to rest after a full day of sightseeing. Heating was on when we arrived, and there were no odd smells in the property. The only downside is that the décor could be more coherent; the mirror would look better above the sink rather than the toilet, the double bed rattles every time you move on it and sinks a bit in the middle, and a salt shaker in the cupboard would be handy.

Only 3 rolls of toilet paper for 3 people over 5 nights, so it wasn’t enough; we had to use our own. I was also disappointed that the small double bed with only one mattress was already set up as guest service with 2 blankets, even though it was confirmed that I would receive 2 blankets (I had 2 friends, each wanted their own blanket; I actually expected a double bed with 2 mattresses). In the wardrobe there was only one very thick winter blanket, which I sweated through and then had to remove the bed linen for the next day, which was very cold. I would have preferred to get a blanket of the same thickness that my friend used. The mattress was also smaller than the bed, and the frame poked out at the bottom. The drawers in the nightstand didn’t open forward enough; they were side‑by‑side and the drawers could hardly be pulled out on each side of the bed. The single bed in the other room had a too‑soft mattress. The wardrobe had far too few hangers for 3 people. The window could only be opened a crack. And we were told to take the trash ourselves, which I’ve never had to do in a booked hotel/apartment/pension. I’m not staying in a youth hostel!

“Off street parking was why we picked this place”

A 10‑minute walk to the tube and nearby shops was great, but several things broke: the dryer, the power outlet, and the freezer. Unlike other places, they didn’t give us oil, salt, or pepper, so I had to buy those myself. The sofa bed was uncomfortable; I could feel the wood frame, but I got used to it.

Being close to the tube and having parking on a private driveway were big pluses, and every room had a fan that kept us cool in the heat—overall a very comfortable stay!
