You get what you pay for. It’s cheap, and it’s okay to stay a couple of nights. Air conditioning is available. The container had no window—just four walls—and the bed was uncomfortable.

The power went out for the entire night, and there is no backup generator to keep the service running. Additionally, there was no water in the morning.

Nice. Everything was fine.

I only noticed the outside had pretty plants, even though they’re getting old. I’d strongly advise against staying here. The room was filthy: the floor was stained, the bed legs left rust on the floor, there was a hole in the ceiling, insects were squashed everywhere, paint was peeling, and the towels were dirty too. The cigarette machine worked fine though. In the bathroom, tiles were falling off and some were broken on the floor, there was no towel rack, no shower head (water came straight from the pipe), and it was dirty because it was shared with another room where people left urine everywhere. The door wouldn’t close from the inside, and the small window didn’t let air in, so the floor never dried after a shower. The shared kitchen was dirty and unhygienic, the utensils were few and old, and there was little space to cook or store food. Other residents—who, according to the receptionist, live there year‑round—never washed their pots, plates, or cutlery after cooking, leaving yesterday’s food and attracting bugs. I spoke with the cleaning lady who was overwhelmed by having to wash the residents’ grime and food leftovers (that’s not her job!). Those same long‑term residents stole food from others’ fridges (even though there’s a camera in the kitchen). We spent $40 on groceries and the next day only two tomatoes were left. The receptionist said this happens often but no punishment is given. Beware: a party organized by the hostel (see photos) can be just 10 m from your room without you being warned, even though we booked four months ahead.
