This family‑run business sits right next to the beach at Drakes Bay, making it perfect for tours, and the hotel restaurant and the one next door are both gorgeous! The family is lovely and everyone is really helpful… we had a fabulous time!

A very good choice for a stay at Drake. The exceptional location offers sea views. The room is comfortable, just as it looks in the photo. The breakfast is very good. But the best part of all is the staff… everyone is charming. The restaurant is also 10. I recommend without hesitation.

The breakfast was fine. The view from the restaurant terrace is great; the cabins depend on the location for how good the view is. There is a water dispenser with chilled water and the water does not taste like chlorine. You’re right on the beach and in immediate proximity to the boat dock. The two young staff at the restaurant/reception were always very friendly. The dinner at the restaurant was tasty but overpriced (25 USD for a very small portion of ravioli). We booked the cabin for 4 nights. Unfortunately, after the reception was no longer staffed in the evening we discovered that our cabin had not been properly cleaned before our stay. Used contact lenses from previous guests were on the floor and we found traces of pests (it looked like dead bedbugs) and a lot of dirt both on and under the bed. The furnishings were very old‑fashioned, the bed squeaked loudly with every little movement, and there was a musty smell. The next day we informed the staff and they assigned us a different cabin and promised to address the issue. In the new cabin everything was fine (overall condition and furnishings as well as the balcony view were noticeably better), but after 2 nights we had to leave it again for new guests and return to the original cabin. When we handed back the key for the old cabin, it was in exactly the same condition as before—still dirty, still the old contact lenses on the floor. It took us, as guests, two requests for the cabin to be properly cleaned. We were on our honeymoon and expected a higher standard for the price per night and were very disappointed that despite these circumstances on site (dirty room / moving luggage) the owner did not offer any compensation (e.g., a price discount / dinner voucher, etc.). Instead, we were handed the regular bill without comment. In summary, it seems to depend on the cabin you are assigned. Cleanliness and furnishings were in our case completely out of line with the upscale price.
