I loved the cosy room and the bed was comfortable. I’m used to camping, so having a small oil heater in the room was a plus. The location is beautiful and the castle, along with its artwork, was interesting. Alan replied quickly to messages and gave clear instructions. The castle itself looks neglected, which was disappointing, but the room was acceptable for the price.

The place is close to Galway. The owner is non‑existent. The castle isn’t maintained at all; the toilet seal was broken and so was a window. In short, stay elsewhere.

We appreciated the short drive from Galway and the secluded vibe. Exploring the grounds was a highlight, and we stayed to have a unique experience. We didn’t get the welcome email until the day after arrival – it would have helped to have the check‑in details beforehand. The photos online are outdated, so research is advised, especially if you have allergies. A small brochure or paper about the location’s history would have been nice.
