I booked a room and it was confirmed, but on arrival I received an email saying “sorry, we can’t host you because the people who were supposed to leave the room you’d use decided not to leave, so they’re staying.”

“Beautiful place to relax near Otavalo and the lake”

I really enjoyed staying here and the owner was very kind, picking me up and dropping me off at the bus stop without charging. The cabins are beautiful, and I had the one upstairs, giving wonderful lake and mountain views, especially at sunset. Next to the upstairs room is a large lounge with windows and views all around where you can relax. The bedroom is spacious and cozy, with a bamboo roof and a wooden wall, and the hot shower works well. It gets cold at night, but there are plenty of blankets. The shared kitchen is great and fully equipped, and I had it to myself. There’s a lovely garden to sit in the sun and hang laundry, a very peaceful spot during the day. Dogs are nearby, mainly barking between 5.30‑7.30 PM and a bit between 9‑10 PM, so you can sleep well after that. I stayed four more nights, something I wouldn’t have done unless it was so peaceful 💯. I can’t complain; the only downside is the evening dog barking, but it’s quiet at night and during the day.
