The building feels old‑fashioned and evokes a strong nostalgic vibe, and my room was tidy and quiet, though the breakfast was quite basic.

From the moment I stepped inside, the hotel impressed me; the staff were friendly and helpful, the room offered a fantastic view and modern amenities, the bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was flawless.

A lovely, quirky old hotel to look at. Some staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating. However, a few issues mean I probably wouldn't stay there again, sadly. There were a few issues, such as the hallway music being quite loud all night long, which made it hard to sleep. The old doors have big gaps, so there was little soundproofing, which meant I listened to constant jazz music on 2 of the 3 nights, all night long. One night, the friendly front staff member turned it down / off for me, but only after asking. Also, a flashing light was above my bed (the smoke detector?). As a light sleeper, this didn't help much. Also, one of the female bar staff was quite rude. We were there for a business event for several nights. One night of our event we were served lovely cocktails. The following night, we decided to order again, but we got a much smaller pour of cocktail and wine. When we asked if that was correct, we were met with nothing but attitude and were told she had made them the night before, too. At $25 a cocktail and around $35 for a large glass of wine (both of which we'd had the day before), we were very much shortchanged. The cocktail wouldn't have contained more than 100ml of liquid. The bar staff told me, 'It's very strong, though'. ?! I'm still looking for the other half of my drink
