The location. The restaurant. They play on words saying “salle de bains dans l'hébergement”, we think it's in the room but it's actually communal WC/shower. 7.0/10

Simple, clean, air‑conditioned, comfortable bed. I had a front‑side room and it was really not as loud as I feared. The laundry rooms were truly 1A clean except for one point—see below. The location was very central—everything was within walking distance. The terrace had a good view of the street below. When I arrived, no one was at reception, and when I asked at the adjacent restaurant they said they weren't part of the hotel—odd that the restaurant is called “DosLocos” and the hotel “Citadel Alona Inn – Home of Dos Locos”? Also odd that the lady who later was at reception and showed me my room had later worked as a server in that restaurant, which supposedly doesn't belong, even though it's in the same building. Reception was otherwise very bad; I was not told where the laundry rooms were, no towels were given (only on request), how to get in at night was not clearly explained, and nothing or even a simple “Herzlich Willkommen” was said. My booking states breakfast 7:30‑10:00 (see picture)—when I asked where breakfast was served, they just said “We don't have breakfast.” There's no proper duvet, just a thin sheet, which seems normal here. The room is only cleaned every 3 days by default, but they could at least empty the trash. One of the two showers only has cold water, the other only has hot water after a lot of fiddling—assuming you are tall enough to reach the tap—so it's a challenge for small people. Water only comes from the top, no hand shower. The soap dishes are really filthy and rusty—they really need replacement. The AC is not adjustable, at least no remote control, you'd have to climb again. The Wi‑LAN is not always stable and reliable—unusable for work—and mobile data is practically nonexistent even though it's in the middle of town. 7.0/10

Good location, friendly staff. Well equipped kitchen that can be used. Room DIN sufficient for one night. Also options for yoga and a nice garden with training areas. Ants in the room (as in many other accommodations). 8.0/10

The hotel's location was fantastic, right in the heart of the action. The staff were super helpful, too - they even went out of their way to clean up an ant infestation in our room and gave us a partial refund for the trouble. It was a bit of a nuisance, but they handled it well.

The location of this place was a major plus - it's a short walk to the beach and right on the main road, but the cheap rooms in the back were surprisingly quiet, which was a nice surprise given how central it is to Alona beach. The kitchen was basic, but it was great that you could use the fridge and whip up some simple meals. The rooms themselves were comfy, and I appreciated the little cupboard for storing my stuff.
