Hótel Lækur, located on an Icelandic horse farm between the Golden Circle and south coast, is a family-owned hotel in Hella, a 10-minute drive away. It’s a bit out of the way but easy to get to. Our cabin had two bedrooms and a cozy sitting area. Breakfast had a solid selection of choices. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The steps up to the mezzanine sleeping area are steep and narrow.

The location was beautiful, the views and colours from the room toward the small river and the mountain were incredible. The room was very clean, the staff were kind, and breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Iceland. I highly recommend it! We left very satisfied.
