The place added a few more amenities like a hammock since last year, but when I walked toward the hot‑spring town the staff entrance wasn’t clearly marked, making it hard to tell it apart from the school side.

Everything was spotless and even my dog seemed happy, yet the Mud River onsen never really gave off the atmosphere you’d expect.
