Very well located, quiet, two minutes from the beach, with a group, generator, and hot water, one of the best places I’ve been to in two months in Zanzibar. Tala is someone you can rely on, always very attentive to your needs, I highly recommend.

The family who owns the villa are very friendly and helpful. Like everyone else in the small village, you always feel safe and welcome. The apartment is spacious, the bed is large and very comfortable, the kitchen is a bit sparsely equipped, but it is very clean. Absolutely recommended!

“Booked two weeks , extended to two months!”

I booked this trip to Zanzibar the week before leaving London, and I didn’t know I would find another home at Tumbo. I’m a solo female traveller, and I never felt so at home while travelling. The property is just a few minutes from the beach, which has the most amazing sea. Kairo is different from any other part of the island; it’s the authentic local African experience that will bring you out of the capitalist, modern life back to a simple, pure life. It’s also calmer and less touristy, with a peaceful grounding vibe. The house has everything you need for a perfect stay; I was travelling while also working from here, and the WIFI at the house allowed me to do so, while I could get a dip in the Indian Ocean between meetings. It was a true return to the real meaning of life! I booked two weeks initially, but I extended it to two months! Shout‑out to Darling Tala, the property manager, who is always available to help with anything you need. She is not just the property manager now, but a real friend! I will always return to my dear Tumbo Villa!

Friendly host, close to the beach and village. Great warmth, helpfulness, and a bit off the usual stuff. Wonderful beach with tide and river. Very easygoing. We could easily cook ourselves with local vegetables. Occasionally the power went out, but it returned quickly with the generator. In a way that’s part of the charm of being right in Kiwengwa (Cairo).

The villa is located in the village, close to restaurants, just steps from the beach, and you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables from locals at good prices. The room and bathroom are spacious, and the kitchen lets you cook your own meals; everything is clean and receives daily upkeep, so you feel at home quickly. I have no negative points—my vacation was great in a place that suits me perfectly, all positive.
