Everything was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the Japanese traditional breakfast was great, the atmosphere was authentic, and the location was quiet. Bath hours were super convenient. Highly recommended.

The inn staff were kind and the Showa‑era vibe was nice; the bath and room were very relaxing. I stayed overnight, so I wish I’d had the chance to eat there.

The ryokan keeps a traditional vibe and the staff greet you warmly, but it sits a bit far from Kyoto’s center, only fairly close to the train station.

I loved the proprietor and the staff. They were so helpful and welcoming. The owner was actually born in this home so she took great care of it. She also gave us free tickets to go to a night temple opening which only happens once in a 1,000 days. I liked the traditional Japanese bath. It was great!. This isn’t about the property as such, but about traditional Ryokans: bathrooms and sinks are shared. If you don’t like sleeping on futons that might be an issue for you also
