“Do NOT trust or stay at this resort if said lady is still in charge you are not safe or suppoted”
My sister booked this hotel for her partner as a retreat getaway. Upon arrival, the lady at reception was lovely, super professional, and welcoming. As the evening went on, my sister’s partner was drinking at the bar while she was getting ready in the room. In the room they had an altercation, and my sister left and asked the manager for help to return to the room and either ask her partner to leave or help her get her belongings and move to safety in another room. The manager (lady) treated my wife appalling, saying she should be ashamed and that it was her fault her partner behaved this way. She refused to tell her she was liable to pay £500 for a repair or would not be let back into the room. When the police arrived, the manager lied, claiming our dog was being aggressive (he was petrified and is a rescue dog); the police were appealed by this, as he was simply scared and shaking by my wife’s side. The police pleaded with her to let my wife stay, but she refused. They then helped my sister go to the hotel and retrieve her belongings. Other staff at reception (a lady and a man) tried to reason with the manager and felt really intimidated and embarrassed by the whole situation. My sister’s partner was arrested for breaking the wardrobe and assaulting my sister and is going to trial as charged by the West Midlands Police Force. My sister repeatedly asked the manager to let her stay until morning, as she had travelled so far, been assaulted, and was in no fit state to drive the long journey home. The manager refused and was absolutely awful to a female in distress, with no fault of her own. My sister ended up sleeping in the hotel carpark with our dog, and the manager could see this from the desk and instructed the male receptionist to lock the doors. She then had a 4‑hour drive home! Even the police were appealed by the manager’s attitude, lies, and unprofessionalism. All of the above is absolutely appalling treatment for a female in fear and distress.
