The cabin sits in a gorgeous forest clearing, which is the only thing that really shines. Unfortunately there’s literally no electricity – just two solar lamps that died on us, a broken remote, no fridge, and a mattress that’s fallen apart, making sleep impossible. The wood stove can’t be used without turning the loft into a sauna, the bathroom’s shower floor is rusty, and there are no windows or any cell/Internet signal, so you’re completely cut off.

The dome‑style cabin is just the right size for one or two people and comes with everything you need for a few days, set in a quiet, safe, and pretty area. The owner checked in daily, which was nice, though the mattress does let the springs show and could use an upgrade. There’s no power or Wi‑Fi yet, but a short walk up the hill gets you a signal, and a regular car can reach it when the roads aren’t snowy.

The location is perfect for unwinding and the host, Don Mauricio, is attentive and genuinely concerned about guests’ comfort. The only real hiccup was a full‑day water outage that left us unable to shower after a long trek, caused by a problem with the communal water tank—not the campsite itself. We survived with a water bottle and wet wipes, but it was an inconvenient surprise.

Everything you’d expect is provided – plates, cutlery, a kettle, plus a hot shower and running water. The dome even has a parking space right outside, making arrivals and departures straightforward. All in all, a well‑stocked and comfortable setup.
