The staff were always friendly, the rooms look nice, and the restaurant—though extra charge—is tasty. The cabins are shabby, old, and unmaintained; the bathrooms smell like sewage. Even though it’s close to the beach, everything is uphill, which is hard to navigate with a baby. Breakfast items dwindled each day, the pool was frozen and unusable, and when it rained there was nothing to do.

The location was perfect, the staff were eager to help, and the restaurant is top‑level. During whale season the show is amazing—waking up to whales is unforgettable.

The lodge is generally good. The spot is great, and the beach is relatively easy to reach (though not very easy for older folks, which is normal for Rosa). The room was clean, bedding and towels fresh and fragrant, except for a strong wood smell that hit as soon as we entered—probably because it’s made of wood and close to the forest, so humidity is inevitable. The room had a kitchen, which is great with a small child. They lend chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels, which is awesome. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The team is attentive and friendly, especially the staff at the breakfast and restaurant—very kind and helpful. The bathroom has a very strong, unpleasant odor from the drain, and the electric shower has low pressure. Because it wasn’t very hot when we arrived, we had to open the shower just a little to get warm water, and washing hair is difficult with the weak water flow. A gas shower would be better. Also, the shower enclosure has no door—just a glass partition—so the floor and the whole bathroom get wet.

“Bom mas não voltaria”

The place was in a great spot, close to the little town and the beach, easy to reach by car or on foot. The entire area is very pretty, surrounded by nature, and the beach view is breathtakingly beautiful. All staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was also very good. The linens and towels were clean and high quality. I did not like the cabin I stayed in; it was very uncomfortable, so I would not return or recommend it. The cabin was too cold, had no heater, and was located at the back of the building instead of the front, which made me feel trapped. On the second night I moved the mattress forward. I thought the kitchen was unnecessary. The TV was in the kitchen, so I also put the mattress on the kitchen floor to watch TV, because the sofa was small, uncomfortable, and made of a cold, bad fabric. It wasn’t the kind of stay that makes you want to stay longer and come back, but it was the cabin that made me think, “oh, it’s time to leave.” I believe whoever built it never slept or stayed there, because you need to be a guest before you can be a host and think about every possible comfort. The space is large and has all the potential to be great. It just needs a better layout.
