Hotel Kruunupuisto, a rehabilitative retreat in an early‑20th‑century Art Nouveau villa, sits 30 km from Savonlinna’s center. Its stylish rooms feature private baths, desks, wooden floors, and free Wi‑Fi. Guests enjoy summer bike and row‑boat rentals, winter ice‑skating and fishing gear, a buffet breakfast, bar snacks, and proximity to Kerimäki’s wooden cathedral and Lusto Forest Museum.

The room in the building’s Jugend style had a high ceiling and was tastefully furnished. It was very quiet to sleep, with thick walls. The bed was extremely comfortable. Along the corridor to the room, there were interesting old photographs with explanations telling the building’s history. The staff were friendly. In the bathroom, water leaked from under the shower wall onto the floor, and it was hard to dry the child properly.

The location was excellent in a beautiful spot. The room was quiet, with no sound coming in or out. The restaurant and bar closed relatively early, probably because of the quiet season.

The hotel was quiet, close to the beach and all of Punkaharju’s sights, pet‑friendly, and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the bed was bad and the room was like a hospital ward. The restaurant was closed for renovation, which surprised us. The bathroom floor wavered after the shower. It was expensive for the quality offered.
