The large room with a terrace was peaceful and in a calm area, but the furnishings could use an update.

The garden and pool were beautiful, and the veranda was delightful, though the menu board was hard to read.

The place was excellent—quiet, silent, and very comfortable—highly recommended.

André, the owner, was extremely patient, accommodating and helpful, even handling our Spanish communication and once washing our dishes—what kindness! He speaks some French and English, and his whole family was warm and welcoming; his nephew Emmanuel even offered to teach me Spanish. The estate boasts a beautiful pool that my daughters loved, hammocks strung in several spots, outdoor cooking facilities, and a large gazebo with a fireplace. I’ve done plenty of DIY, so I can picture the effort required to run a place like Tiquisia Lodge—lots of work, teamwork and obvious love. I arrived at Tiquisia Lodge with disorganized activity plans and finances, which understandably made me wary and I regret that. My girls befriended a cat that liked to curl up in their beds, sometimes getting a bit intrusive. The utensil drawer was stubborn whenever we tried to open or close it.
