“Great place to foster interaction among guests, great location but could be more flexible during check in”
I booked three separate stays because my plans changed, and the spot is unbeatable—just a hop from the bus stop, two convenience shops, the roadside station, the port, and a bunch of eateries that serve tasty potato dishes and desserts. The place feels like home; our futon rooms double as bedrooms, and there’s a living area and a dining area that encouraged chatting with other guests. Clean, comfy, everything worked smoothly. I added breakfast on the last morning and got a delicious Japanese spread. The only hiccup was the inflexibility at check‑in: I arrived around 1 pm, asked for early check‑in, and a young lady said 3 pm. I waited until 2:45 pm, but she insisted I couldn’t even sit in the front‑area café unless ordering. I carried my luggage outside for 15 minutes, feeling more unwelcome than a regular café patron. When I returned, the front desk finally let me in, and a senior staff member later explained the room wasn’t ready. A bit more leniency—allowing guests to sit at a corner table or the little entrance while waiting—would improve the experience. Also, bring earplugs; the walls are thin and I could hear snoring from the guys’ room even with doors closed.
