The spot right on the Danube is a dream! Everything you need is within walking distance, and there’s a breakfast service. The wine barrel is spacious enough for its purpose and there’s a climate‑control unit that can cool or heat. Towels, sheets, and one shower chip per person are provided. At the campsite there’s a microwave, cookers, a vending machine, and a fridge.

We really enjoyed our stay at Donaucamping Emmersdorf. The lovely Danube location, the cozy barrel accommodation, and the calm, pleasant atmosphere were especially appealing. The climate control in the barrel was great, especially since it was a rather cold night :) we warmed up in the evening and the soft blankets were more than enough. The hosts were friendly and warm, making us feel welcome. The value for money is also very good. We’ll definitely come back 😍 Many mosquitoes in the barrel because it isn’t fully sealed. Also a lot of spider webs on the ceiling that could have been avoided by a quick vacuum. Huge spiders in one of the shower cabins, but maybe they’re removed daily, since the shower and toilet themselves are clean and fine.

The room was clean, fully equipped, and came with towels and bedding. If you were chilly, there was air conditioning. The bed in the barrel was comfortable, roomy, and came with a handy storage. The barrel door was stuck, and we had to leave the accommodation by 10:30 – we’d just finished a long bike ride and wanted to rest. Around 9 pm the cleaner almost forced the door on us, but we managed to close it. Afterwards we had breakfast outside near our boat, and the cleaner came twice; if we hadn’t called out, she’d have started cleaning even though we were still there before 10:30. In the shower and a few bathrooms the drain seemed to have a problem – the water trickled down slowly, and while showering the person had to stand in the released water up to the knees.

The spot is perfect, right next to the cycle path. The barrel was a unique place to stay. Unfortunately the heating didn’t work, so it was very cold.

The location is right on the Danube, or along the Danube Cycle Path. The barrel could be heated and was close to the shared area (bath, toilet, kitchen, etc.).
