Pink Misery: My wife and I have never been so disappointed with an accommodation. We admit we didn’t scrutinize the property description and photos closely enough, yet based on the location, the 10‑star rating, the price, and the few pictures we were comfortable with our choice. Past experience with the host was also reassuring. Pink Bliss is not a nice place! First, the neighborhood is a maze of switchbacks and dead ends, and if you’re lucky enough to find the place, you shouldn’t expect anyone to greet you. If you’re looking for signs, forget it—there are none, and I doubt anyone could find it after dark. The property is cluttered and dirty. The facilities are tired and worn. There are no photos of the shared bathroom—rightly so, because the conditions are borderline unsanitary. Perhaps the host simply forgot to mention that the bath has no hot water. Our French is poor, and the host’s English is nonexistent. When we finally met her, her only discernible expression was “when can you pay me?” The room was quite small and desperately needed fresh paint and new furnishings. Bottom line: do not book Pink Bliss no matter what the rate!
