The motel was full of mining workers who stayed until 1:30 am, drank grog until 6 am, and chatted loudly outside our room—no sleep, so we left at 6:15 am. Nobody told us the key was at a different address, showing poor communication, though truck traffic drowned out the workers’ noise.
